The Tarragona Business Centre, known as Viver d'Empreses, will launch a new service in one of the warehouses of the old Tobacco Factory next September, when the move of about a dozen employees of this department will have already finished.

In particular, this is a shared space that can accommodate up to six young entrepreneurs who want to share their professional experience. This model, known as “coworking” is currently booming in this sector and provides a work space which allows to lower costs.

Young entrepreneurs will have all basic services, ie, wi-fi, printing, secretarial, legal and tax advice, light, electricity, telephone, among others. Moreover, they will share their workspace with others. The director of the Viver d'Empreses, Ms. Valle Mellado, says that "for the moment" we have received many requests interested in this new service. "

In addition, in the building of the old Tobacco Factory will be available four modules, of more than thirty square meters, for those companies dedicated exclusively to the sectors of environmental sustainability and new technologies.

Moreover, once the services of the Viver d'Empreses move to the old Tobacco Factory, the offices of the current Business Centre will be free to house exclusively the companies concerned. The building, located in the Plaza de Prim of Tarragona, has twelve offices. There are currently three companies set up and there is a waiting list to place six more in September. These companies belong to the field of communications, graphic design, architecture, environmental management, among others.

According to Mellado, "there is currently a high demand mainly because the labor market does not respond to the expectations and, as a consequence, many people with initiative have decided to set up their own company." Another reason that has led to revive the activity of the Viver d'Empreses is that earlier this year the rate was lowered by 28% of its total cost, which saves the new entrepreneurs almost 100 €.

In the Viver d'Empreses have been installed over time several entrepreneurs, including the makers of the Rosita beer, so popular in Tarragona.
