Distàncies a Tarragona

1. Tarragona has excellent connections with Europe and the main economic areas of Catalonia and Spain.

The road network consists of the motorways and highways of the Mediterranean corridor (AP-7 and A7), the north (AP-2 and A-27), the C-32 (Pau Casals), the T-11 and the national roads that connect it with the rest of Spain (N-240, N-340 and N-420). In particular, the connection with Barcelona is possible via both the AP-7 and the C-32. In the case of the port of Tarragona, internal access by road is guaranteed by the Transversal Axis – providing a direct connection without traffic lights from the port of Tarragona to the entire road network – and the entrances to the Levante and Reus docks.

As far as air transport is concerned, the international airport of Barcelona-El Prat is 45 minutes and Reus Airport, just 7 km away, also has international connections.

In the case of rail connections, Tarragona has two stations. The first one, located in the city centre, is a stop on the Euromed high-speed line (Barcelona-Alicante) and offers local and regional services. The second, the Camp de Tarragona station on the Spanish high-speed rail network (AVE), connects Tarragona with Madrid in 2 hours and 37 minutes. In addition, the European Commission has declared the Mediterranean Corridor as a priority freight and passenger rail axis connecting southern Spain with the French border. Work is currently underway on the different sections and Tarragona will be one of the main nodes.

The port of Tarragona is a pioneer on the Mediterranean coast in terms of rail use, and a leader in direct train access to all quays. The port is the main port in the Mediterranean and is consolidated as one of the gateways for the entry and exit of goods from Europe. Ranked as the fifth most important port in Spain, it has connections with sixty countries through regular maritime lines established with ports around the world. The port is Tarragona’s gateway to the world.
